I figured I’d get a list of products to buy. Instead, it showed me which ingredients to look for and included references to peer-reviewed research papers at the end. No upselling. Honestly, that made me trust it a lot more.

I was a bit skeptical at first. I thought it might tell me the same things I’d heard before, but the suggestions felt clear and doable. I liked that it didn’t turn into a huge routine.

Yeah, this hairstyle is sick. I never know what to ask for at the barber, but seeing it on my own photo made it way easier to picture what I wanted.

One photo in. Five skin maps out.

Inspect a genuine sample scan before uploading your own. See the acne, pore, redness, oiliness, and dark-circle evidence—not just a mystery score.

Screening and self-tracking tool—not a medical diagnosis. Results vary with lighting and photo quality.

General comparison: app features and clinic policies vary. A dermatology consultation provides medical care; GlowUp Face provides cosmetic guidance.

Questions & answers

Everything about your analysis, your plan and your privacy.

GlowUp Face shows you what to improve first. From a single selfie, our AI analyzes visible skin signals, previews hairstyle options on your face, and builds a personalized improvement plan.

Free, right after your scan: your top visible opportunity, selected proof maps, and a glow-up preview. The full report then adds:

  • Ranked fix order — what to improve first
  • A complete AM / PM / weekly 30-day routine
  • A realistic projection of your skin at its best
  • Six hairstyles rendered on your face, with a best match
  • A downloadable PDF report you keep

Yes — the overall glow-up preview based on selected signals is free. An email is required to unlock it, but no account or card is needed. The complete report is an optional one-time $14.90 purchase.

No. One front photo gives you the full report. If you use the guided camera and add a left and a right photo, the cheeks and temples are read where they face the camera and the report says which photos it used. Each photo gets a quality score and honest fix hints (light, blur, distance, tilt) while you take it.

The full report keeps your current haircut as a reference, renders five new styles on your own photo, and asks AI to highlight the strongest new match for your face shape, hairline, and framing.

Only with people who scanned here, never with the general population, and only once a comparable group reaches 200 scans. The sentence names the group used (your age band and lighting, or wider when needed). Only readings where lower is plainly better are compared: pores, redness, shine, spots, lines, texture and tone. Symmetry, proportions and skin tone are never compared with anyone, and you can opt out before scanning.

Before the plan adds anything, the products you list are checked against your scan and each gets a verdict with a cited reason:

  • Stop, reduce, separate, move to evening, start or keep
  • Ordered by severity, three to six items plus what you already do right
  • Built from a fixed ingredient library you can correct; a brand name alone resolves to nothing
  • Cosmetic guidance only; your clinician's instructions come first

Filters hide your skin. GlowUp Face instead ranks photo-based visible signals and turns them into practical next steps. Generated projections are illustrative guides, not guaranteed outcomes.

ChatGPT, Claude and other AI assistants are good for general advice on skin and hair. But general is what you get.

A chat assistant can look at your photo and describe it, but it does not measure it. It cannot place landmarks on your face, count visible pores, map redness and shine zone by zone, or measure your facial thirds, so its advice rests on a general impression rather than on your actual readings. Ask it the same question twice and you can get two different answers.

Image tools have the same problem. Ask one to try a new haircut on your photo and it quietly redraws your eyes, nose, jaw and skin along with it. The result looks convincing, but it is no longer quite your face. On our free hairstyle try-on we put your real face back onto the options after they are drawn, so the haircut is what changes, not you.

We use AI models too: Claude helps put your results into plain words, and an image model draws the hairstyle previews. But the measurements come from dedicated computer vision, 478 facial landmarks and separate detectors for spots, pores, redness, shine and under-eye darkness, run on your own photo. The same photo gives the same numbers every time.

If you want quick, free, general tips, an AI assistant is a fine place to start. If you want to know what to fix first on your own face, and to see haircuts on you before you sit in the barber's chair, that is what GlowUp Face is built for.

No. AI narrows the options and highlights a strong match, but you make the final choice. Treat the images as visual references to discuss with your barber or stylist, not a guaranteed salon result.

Your photo is uploaded for analysis and is never published, sold or used for ad targeting — there is no public gallery and no account history. A private copy may be kept in our internal operations channel and archive, and portraits go to our image-generation provider to render your previews. Working copies in memory expire automatically, and we will delete your photo on request. We may keep your email address to send you updates and offers. See Face Data Privacy for the full details.

The free preview usually takes about a minute. The full report is normally ready in about two minutes.
