AI Face Analysis App Comparison (2026): 10 Tools Side by Side

Disclosure: GlowUp Face publishes this page and sells the GlowUp Face report. The people scoring this comparison work for GlowUp Face.

GlowUp Face is the strongest fit here for a broad cosmetic skin reading without an attractiveness rating. QOVES goes deeper on facial geometry and adds human review. YouCam Makeup offers more hairstyle experiments, while Skinive tracks individual spots. This AI face analysis app comparison puts 10 live tools on the same terms.

This is a desk comparison, not a hands-on accuracy test. We did not upload one controlled photo set to every tool, so product claims describe features rather than proven accuracy.

What each tool is actually best at

GlowUp Face

GlowUp Face has the broadest disclosed cosmetic skin-map set here. Four lighting-sensitive maps carry confidence readings, and weak readings can be withheld. Guided three-angle capture checks blur, light, distance, tilt and head angle. Most aligned hair renders reuse the uploaded face from brows to chin. The AI face scan suits one detailed review without an attractiveness rating.

QOVES

QOVES asks for six angles, runs more than 160 assessments and adds human review. A yearly membership includes one refreshed analysis and support, with delivery taking up to 28 days. No public price appears, and its policy permits using customer data to refine machine-learning systems.

The Face Report

The Face Report is the strongest free geometry option here. Its free scan runs in your browser without uploading the photo. The paid report adds hair previews, color and a plan. It sends data to external AI providers and retains a private copy.

Umax

Umax is for readers who want a direct attractiveness rating in a phone app. Analysis needs a subscription, and further scans cost extra. For a shorter shortlist, see our five-tool face-analysis pick list.

AI Face Analysis App Comparison (2026): 10 Tools Side by Side

YouCam Makeup

YouCam Makeup combines skin scores with more than 250 hairstyle presets and editing tools. It is the best pick for repeated hair and makeup experiments. Remember that smoothing, reshaping or relighting changes the image being judged.

Hiface

Hiface turns a selfie into face-shape, hair, beard, glasses and makeup suggestions, so it fits a haircut decision better than skin tracking. The listing names subscriptions and extra credits, so a free download does not make every result free.

Face Shape AI

Face Shape AI combines a beauty score with face shape, skin, hair and symmetry readings, then builds a 12-week plan with streaks and rescans. Photos and results stay on the device or sync to private iCloud, according to its listing.

Skiniva

Skiniva scores visible concerns, keeps weekly, monthly and yearly charts, and makes the first analysis free. Its listing provides no peer-reviewed validation, so treat its numbers as photo trends, not diagnostic grades.

Skinive

Skinive stores dated photos of moles, spots and rashes, with reminders and comparisons. It is the best tracker here for one area. Its listing says results vary with photo quality and cannot rule out cancer. A changing lesion needs a clinician.

Fotor Pretty Scale

Fotor is the simplest free rating tool here. It scores several face dimensions without a login, but it does not track cosmetic skin changes. Its page provides no peer-reviewed validation for claims of objective or accurate beauty scoring.

Best pick for each job

  • Skin readings: GlowUp Face for the broadest disclosed cosmetic map set and confidence flags; Skiniva if weekly tracking matters more.
  • Face geometry: QOVES for multi-angle depth and human review; The Face Report for immediate free geometry processed on-device.
  • Hairstyle previews: YouCam Makeup for its preset library and repeated experiments; GlowUp Face if keeping your uploaded face matters more.
  • Ongoing tracking: Skinive for individual spots; Face Shape AI for streaks; Skiniva for a cosmetic face diary.

If you only want skin-focused choices, our skin-analysis comparison removes the geometry and hairstyle tools.

Where the other tools are stronger

QOVES beats GlowUp Face on assessment depth, human review and continuing support. Skinive tracks specific spots, while Face Shape AI adds streaks and rescans; GlowUp Face has no built-in timeline.

YouCam Makeup offers far more repeat hairstyle experiments, while Hiface keeps styling inside a phone app. The Face Report processes free geometry on-device; Fotor gives free ratings without login.

What to pick

Pick GlowUp Face for one broad scan across skin, geometry and hair with a one-time payment. Do not pick it for daily or weekly tracking, streaks or an automatic timeline. It runs in a browser, with no home-screen app, push notification or offline use. Its partial free preview needs email, and one payment covers one report. If you want a number to compare with friends, it will never give you one. Its readings describe the submitted image and its light, not clinical grades; compare only matched photos.

Pick QOVES for deeper, human-reviewed geometry, or The Face Report for free local measurements. Pick YouCam or Hiface before a haircut. Pick Face Shape AI or Skiniva for progress charts, Skinive for one spot, and Fotor for a free rating.

A score is only as stable as the photo

Ward, Ward, Fried and Paskhover modeled short-distance portrait distortion in JAMA Facial Plastic Surgery in 2018. At 12 inches, perceived nasal width rose about 29% to 30% against face width, but the modeled difference approached zero at five feet.

Khavkin and Ellis made the same practical point for skin photography in 2011. Useful comparisons need consistent lighting, framing, camera settings and distance; their paper covered clinical photography, not these consumer products.

Use the same camera, distance, room and light for every repeat scan, then remove filters and keep hair off the face. If a score moves after the lighting changes, retake the photo before changing your routine. Treat no result here as a diagnosis of acne, a rash or a suspicious lesion.
